#Repost @savethechildren with @repostapp ・・・ Khalid*, 7, suffered severe injuries and lost his hand when his school in #Syria was attacked by missiles. Three teachers and 5 children lost their lives at that school, and several others like Khalid were seriously injured. Our new study, “Education Under Attack,” finds that Syria has seen more than 4,000 attacks on its schools over the past 4 years, compounding the humanitarian crisis that has already forced 4 million citizens to seek refuge in over-crowded surrounding states and beyond, towards Europe. “If schools were not attacked and abused, families might consider staying there for their children's future,” said our President and CEO, Carolyn Miles. “Fortunately, despite the enormous challenges, it is vital – and possible – to deliver education in Syria. Working to continue education, even under the most difficult circumstances, is an investment in the future of Syria’s children, and the future of Syria,” she added.
