😢 #aylankurdi ഡമാസ്ക്കസ്: അഭയാര്ഥിപ്രശ്നം സമ്മാനിച്ച നോവുന്ന ചിത്രമാണ് അയ്ലാന് കുര്ദി എന്ന മൂന്നുവയസുകാരന്. തുര്ക്കിയിലെ ബോര്ഡം കടപ്പുറത്ത് ചലനമറ്റു കിടക്കുന്ന അവന്റെ ചിത്രം ഏവരുടെയും മനസിനെയും കുത്തിനോവിക്കും. കടപ്പുറത്തുനിന്നും പോലീസ് ഉദ്യോഗസഥന് വന്ന് എടുത്തുമാറ്റുന്നതിന് തൊട്ടുമുന്പ് ഡോഗന് ന്യൂസ് ഏജന്സിയുടെ ഫോട്ടോഗ്രാഫര് പകര്ത്തിയതാണ് ഈ ചിത്രം. ചുവന്ന ടി ഷര്ട്ടും നീല ട്രൗസറുമിട്ട് കമിഴ്ന്നു കിടക്കുന്ന അയ്ലാന്. തകര്ന്നു മുങ്ങിയ അഭയാര്ഥികളുടെ ബോട്ടിലുണ്ടായിരുന്ന അമ്മ രഹാനെയും അഞ്ചു വയസ്സുകാരന് ചേട്ടന് ഗാലിപ്പിനെയും അയ്ലാന് നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടു. അവന്റെ ശരീരം മാത്രം കരയ്ക്കടിഞ്ഞു. തുര്ക്കിയില് നിന്ന് ഗ്രീസിലേയ്ക്ക് കടക്കാന് ശ്രമിക്കുന്നതിനിടെയാണ് സിറിയന് സ്വദേശികളായ അയ്ലാന്റെ കുടുംബം സഞ്ചരിച്ച ബോട്ട് കടലില് മുങ്ങിയത്. അഞ്ചു കുട്ടികള് അടക്കം പന്ത്രണ്ട് പേര്ക്കാണ് ജീവന് നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടത്. ബോട്ടില് 23 പേര് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അയ്ലന്റെ അച്ഛന് അബ്ദുള്ള കുര്ദി ഉള്പ്പടെ ഒന്പത് പേര് രക്ഷപ്പെട്ടു. വിനോദസഞ്ചാരകേന്ദ്രമായ തുര്ക്കിയിലെ ബോഡ്രമില് തങ്ങിയശേഷം ഗ്രീസിലെ ഏജിയന് ദ്വീപിലേയ്ക്ക് യാത്ര ചെയ്യുന്നതിനിടെയായിരുന്നു അപകടം. ഇസ്ലാമിക് സ്റ്റേറ്റിന്റെ ഭീഷണിയെ തുടര്ന്ന് സിറിയന് നഗരമായ കൊബാനെയില് നിന്ന് തുര്ക്കിയിലേയ്ക്ക് പലായനം ചെയ്തവരായിരുന്നു ഇവര്. ഇതിനിടെയാണ് ബോട്ട് അപകടത്തില് പെട്ടത്. കടല് തീരത്ത് കമിഴ്ന്നു കിടക്കുന്ന അയ്ലാന് ഇന്നു ലോക മനസാക്ഷിയുടെ തീരാവേദനയാണ്. സോഷ്യല് മീഡിയയിലും ലോകത്തെ പ്രമുഖ മാധ്യമങ്ങളിലും അയ്നാന്റെ ചിത്രം ഇടം പിടിച്ചു. യൂറോപ്പിനെ ചിത്രം കണ്ണു തുറപ്പിക്കട്ടെയെന്ന പ്രാര്ത്ഥനയാണ് ലോകം പങ്കുവച്ചത്. ഒരു പക്ഷേ മനസാക്ഷിമരച്ചുപോയവര് കാണാന് പ്രകൃതി ബാക്കിവെച്ച ചിത്രമാണ് അയ്നാന്, തിരകള് നമുക്ക് തിരുത്താന് അവനെ തീരത്തെത്തിച്ചതാകാം, അയ്ലാന് ഒരു പിന്ഗാമി ഉണ്ടാകാതിരിക്കട്ടെ.. യൂറോപ്പേ കണ്ണു തുറക്കുക…..

The caption on the cartoon read "what would have happened to little Aylan if he grew up? A groper of women in Germany" I truly don't see the purpose of such a cartoon. It does not invite the necessary peaceful dialogue the world should be engaging in regarding the complex refugee crisis we have seen over the last few years. I think such a cartoon actually causes harmful friction and blatantly uses "satire" to offend. While some will say the world is becoming too sensitive I can't help but question why the death of an innocent life - a child - has any reason to be mocked? The irony of such a picture is that everyone is to take the deaths of Charlie Hebdo journalists seriously (and they should) yet the magazine then has a right to mock the death of others under the umbrella of "satire"? In its latest edition, this odious magazine featured a cartoon suggesting that drowned 3-year-old Syrian refugee Aylan Kurdi would have grown up to be a sex attacker like those migrants accused of sexually assaulting hundreds of women in Cologne on the 31st of December. German officials have alleged that the perpetrators of the attack were mainly of North African and Arab descent. As extreme and disgusting as the cartoon was, it was representative of the flood of bigoted accusations against Islam and the nature of Muslim men which have been making their familiar rounds in the right-wing and secular media. Indeed, as soon as news of the New Year’s Eve incident broke, the claws of the die-hard secular journalists and press were out. One can imagine they were almost salivating at the prospect of getting their fangs into the so-called dangers of Islamic beliefs and Muslim immigrants. The accusations came thick and fast: that there was something inherent within Muslim men that made them prey on ‘white women’; that Islam’s misogynistic beliefs view women as temptresses or lower than men, nurturing such attacks; that Islamic laws such as women covering or the restriction of the interaction of men and women fuel sexual frustrations, causing Muslim men to express pent up sexual desires on Western ‘non-covered’ women. The liberal German newspaper Suddeutsche Zeitung for example published a racist image depicting a black hand assaulting the body of a white woman to illustrate an article in which a psychologist claimed that for young Muslim men, any meeting with a woman was a highly sexualised encounter. While Alyan and thousands of other refugees have drowned in the ocean, begging and screaming for help! the world leaders have turned their back to them and closed the borders to not let no one in!.. So this is the solution? This is where we have came in the end, This is who we are?! ...Kindness has turned to cold hearted, betray, greed and selfishness!
