Sometimes I feel that life is so incomprehensible. Like it makes no sense and I do not believe in fate. , his brother and their mother drowned in the same sea as where I am swimming with my two little sons right now. His small three year old body washed up on a Turkish beach hundreds of kilometres west from where we are holidaying. Yet it seems so painfully close, as if it could be the resort beach where we are among laughing, happy, sunburnt families. We are also on a Turkish beach, except in such infinitely different circumstances. I do not and cannot comprehend how this is possible, how this massive divide happens. It is all so random - one family is lucky and lives in a prosperous country and another is forced to risk all to escape war and perishes. It almost does feel like fate that I read #lordoftheflies last week... The evil in this world comes from us and only us humans.
