Aylan Kurdi was two, just like this little piece of my heart. He and his family were fleeing war and death, just like we would. But he fled from one kind of death to another. Did you see the haunting photo of him washed up on Turkey's shore? The one the photographer called a "silent scream" to the world? He was only two. I. can't. even. And there are thousands like him. Refugees with nowhere to go. I'm grateful countries are beginning to respond. I think Aylan's photo is haunting more homes than just ours. As it should. 💛 #refugeeswelcome Praying that country leaders continue to open their hearts and borders. It will cost us to open our hearts and borders ... just like it costs us to do anything hard and worthwhile. May little Aylan's death not be in vain. May his dad -- and those like him -- find a Hope greater than the one he lost. 💛
